Built for a Changing Landscape

For years, the private hospital sector has faced growing pressure, especially around access to operating theatres for dental and maxillofacial procedures under general anaesthesia. And for paediatric and special needs dentists, options have become increasingly limited.

A First for South Australia

Opening in mid-2026, Adelaide East will be the state’s first bespoke oral and dental day hospital, designed from the ground up specifically for oral and dental surgery.

The facility will include

• Two fully equipped general anaesthesia theatres, designed for dental and oral surgical workflows

• Dedicated paediatric dental capacity, including support for children with complex behavioural, developmental, or medical needs

• Purpose-built areas for medically compromised patients

• A multidisciplinary environment, supporting collaboration between paediatric dentists, special needs dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and the broader dental community
